Today was a perfect spring day. Sunny but not too hot, hardly a cloud in the sky. I decided to go for a drive and ended up in the township of Malmsbury, about 55km south of Bendigo along the old Calder Highway. Nestled on the Coliban River is the 150-year old Malmsbury Botanic Gardens which, as you can see below, is a great spot for photos.

Leaving town, I bought a drink and the girl behind the counter said "enjoy your day."

"Hard not to on a day like today," I replied.

On June 25, a deliberately lit fire destroyed a charity shop and warehouse in California Gully near Bendigo, Victoria. The Bendigo Advertiser selected two of my photos for the Monday 28/06/2010 edition, and another for the Tuesday 29/06/2010 edition. This was the first outing for my new Pentax K-7 DSLR, however the first and third shots here were taken with the Pentax K20D + Sigma 70-200/2.8 HSM II (for the record the second shot was with the K-7 + Pentax DA* 16-50/2.8 SDM).
